Downtown Dunedin Florida Mardi Gras Parade & Festival - All You Need To Know About!

If you are looking for the largest Mardi gras celebrations within the Southeast, then Downtown Dunedin Florida Festival parade is the best one. This time, the annual event will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020. 
Talking about the festival even attendees, It's hosted by Downtown Dunedin Merchants Association (DDMA) and This event has become the must-attend event for festival attendees.
  • Event Opens at 12:00 PM. Music Starts at 1:00 PM Parade Starts at 7:00 PM

About 34,000 people are expected to attend this year’s 29th annual  Dunedin Mardi Gras Parade and Festival, which includes musical  performances. The festival presented by Downtown Dunedin Merchants Association, and  is produced by AMG Group Music Events. It runs from 12 PM to 11 p.m. Then spills over to local pubs and restaurants until closing time.
  • Parade attendees are advised to stake out a spot along the parade route early since some attendees begin arriving to enjoy some great music, food and street vendors. 
  • The parade live streaming begins at 7:00 p.m. in front of the Dunedin Stadium, runs along Douglas Avenue and ends near Skinner Boulevard.

  • Units can arrive after 4:00 p.m.
  • Do NOT arrive before 4:00 PM
  • Riders must arrive by 5:30 p.m.
  • Listen to all directions provided by the Parade Captains and Parade Management
  • DO NOT ASSUME YOU HAVE THE SAME SPACE OR STAGING LOCATION AS PREVIOUS YEARS.
  • DO NOT STAGE IN THE STADIUM LOTS UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED TO DO SO.
  • Bead Orders, if you ordered beads from the website they will be dropped off at your parade number.
  • Your float position can be found within your welcome email.
  • Please print your parade number and attach it to your float, car or person. (Please print and have your number available)
  • YOUR ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A NUMBER UPON ENTRY TO THE STAGING AREA.
The Parade ends at the corner of Douglas and State Rd 580. All units will turn right.
Floats and other parade units that need to break down or drop off riders should pull over to right hand curb side of State Rd 580.
Units that do not need to stop should proceed to the nearest intersection to enter traffic flow and if necessary loop back around to the staging area to drop people off at their cars.
DO NOT try and re-enter the downtown Dunedin core as it is closed to traffic. We encourage all participants to join us downtown for the live music, food and fun.
Walkers will continue to the left of the "Parade End" sign and proceed north to Skinner Blvd. and turn left on the sidewalk to the Pinellas Trail. Continue down Pinellas Trail back towards downtown. ( toward Huntley)
Do not park on Huntley Ave for any reason. All cars, buses, trucks will be towed
Vehicles will continue to the right of the "Parade End" sign; those than need to unload or fasten down their floats once past the sign should do so in the middle lane at the end of Douglas. Once unloaded, vehicles will continue north merging back to the right lanes on Douglas to Skinner and exit to the right on Skinner.
All other vehicles (not needing to stop) continue to the right of the "Parade End' sign and stay right and continue north on Douglas to Skinner and exit to the right.
